Peach Pie (Vanilla Ice Cream)
Crust: 8/10; by far the best single element of the pie, this buttery crust melts in your mouth
Ice Cream: 6/10; run-of-the-mill French vanilla is rendered somewhat moot by the addition of whipped cream, but the scoop is separated enough from the other elements of the dish that you are able to sample it selectively.
Filling: 6/10; likely canned peaches given the rather bland taste and uniformity of size, these slices are just flavorful enough to not noticeably detract from the entire dish.
Presentation: 8/10; with the slice mostly in one piece, the ice cream scoop distinctly separated, and a generous amount of whipped cream decorating the plate like three airy meringues, this dish is markedly pleasing to the eye.
Taste: 7/10; an exceptional crust and the unexpected additional of whipped cream ratchet up the flavor here, but you have to blanch fresh peaches to get top marks from this discerning diner.
Overall: 35/50; 3.5 slices – Peaches come from a can, they were put there by a man, but the crust just saves the day.
